11th BUSHO IS STILL WAITING FOR ENTRIES

BuSho is ready to be continued in December with the start of entering to the 11th Festival, of which terms & conditions (T&C) we again made some minor changes. Beside the successful entry platforms of previous years - where WAB is out for the new season - the festival's own online interface had some touch up to make administration easier for the future. Still only online entries are accepted, in fact the entry form doesn't need to be printed out and signed therefore no more postal cost applies. Entries are welcome in the usual categories: no more than 30 minutes in length of fiction, animation and experimental that is made no earlier than 1-January-2013. We ask all film makers to read our terms and conditions before uploading their works, make sure you name it in accordance to T&C, as well as keep things within limitations such as length, picture size, file format, character length of synopsis etc. For those who encounter problem with creating the appropriate file format we inserted a file converter to our website that helps them out to complete the entry.

ÉRKEZNEK A NEVEZÉSEK A 11. BUSHO FESZTIVÁLRA

A korábbi évekhez hasonlóan decemberben megkezdődtek a nevezések a 11. Fesztiválra, melynek felhívásában, szabályzatában, ezúttal is apróbb módosításokat vezettünk be. A korábbi években sikerrel beindított nevezési platformok - melyek közül ezúttal kimaradt a Withoutabox - mellett megújult a BuSho saját online nevezési felülete, mely megkönnyítheti a későbbi adminisztrációs terheket. Továbbra is kizárólag online nevezéseket fogadunk, sőt tavaly óta a nevezési lapot sem kell kinyomtatni és aláírni, tehát megszűntettünk minden postaköltséget. Nevezni továbbra is a megszokott kategóriákban lehet, azaz 30 percnél rövidebb fikciós, animációs és kísérleti filmeket várunk, melyek 2013. január 1. után készültek! Kérünk minden alkotót, hogy olvassa el a szabályzatot a nevezés feltöltése előtt, nevezze el filmjét az ott feltüntetettek szerint és lehetőség szerint tartsa be a határokat, úgy, mint hossz, képméret, filmméret, fájltípus, szinopszis hossza ésatöbbi! Akinek gondot okoz a megfelelő formátum létrehozása, azoknak beillesztettünk egy fájl konvertálót a weboldalra és reméljük ezek után senkinek nem okoz majd problémát a nevezés beküldése!

7th SPOT & POSTER WORKSHOP

On the evening of Sunday 8-February the 7th Spot & Poster workshop kicked off at the Partium Christian University in Oradea with the leadership of Tamás Patrovits and 18 participants. This year, beside the hosting PCU, people came from Illyés Academy of Budaörs, Sapientia Science University of Cluj-Napoca and many others from various institutions. Balázs Zoltán head of art department of PCU said it would be ideal for the future of the workshop to delegate participants from more and more different institutions that gives them the chance to make both the team and the works more colorful. The more the better. Independently from the workshop anyone can enter his/her piece until 31-March and can win his/her place in the one-week 9th GomBuSho Multicultural Workshop. Go ahead! workshop channel, we hope you'll enjoy it or not.

7. SPOT&POSTER WORKSHOP

Február 8-án vasárnap este Patrovits Tamás vezetésével 18 jelentkező részvételével elindult a 7. Spot&Poster workshop Nagyváradon, a Partiumi Keresztény Egyetem Képzőművészeti tanszékén! Az idei évben a házigazda PKE növendékekhez csatlakoztak a budaőrsi Illyés Akadémia hallgatói, ismét delegált tanulókat Kolozsvárról a Sapientia Tudomány Egyetem és külsős jelentkezők is vannak a résztvevők között! Balázs Zoltán, a PKE Képzőművészeti tanszékének vezetője szerint a jövőre nézve az lehetne a további közös célkitűzésünk, hogy minél több Intézményt próbáljunk meg bevonni a delegálók közé, így az évek alatt még színesebb csapat majd -ebből fakadóan- alkotások születhetnek majd. A workshoptól függetlenül persze bárki egyénileg is elküldheti alkotását március 31-ig és megnyerheti az ingyenes részvételt az egyhetes nyári 9. GomBuSho összművészeti workshopra! Hajrá!

UNDER THE MOON CONTINUES

As we informed you in our last newsletter, the project "Under The Moon" has been launched in last November on the track of the successful "Blind Diary" film workshop. This track led us to Slovenia, to a small town of Trbovlje on the coast of the river Sava. Here participants had to present their film plans they made so far of which the ones that makers have to shot by the closing event in Belgrade in summer have been selected. The five-member Hungarian team did their best by outstanding performances and a Hungarian themed evening they made the trip one to remember. The mentioned final will be held in the frame of 10th Youth Media Summit in the Serbian capital at the end of July.

FOLYTATJUK A HOLDALATTIN

Legutóbbi hírlevelünkkben már beszámoltunk róla, hogy a nagy sikerű “Blind Diary” nemzetközi filmworkshop folytatásaként, tavaly novemberben Budapesten elindult a legújabb projekt "Under The Moon" címmel és első külföldi utunk a szlovén Száva parti kisvárosba Trbovljébe vezetett! Ezen a rendezvényen már konkrétan az időközben megszületett filmterveket kellett prezentálni, melyek közül kiválasztásra kerültek azok, melyeket végül minden résztvevőnek a nyári belgrádi záróeseményre kell majd leforgatnia! Az öt fős magyar csapat kitett magáért és kiváló előadásaikkal és a magyar esttel tették emlékezetessé a túrát. Az említett finálé egyébként a 10th Youth Media Summit keretein belül kerül majd megrendezésre Július végén a Szerb fővárosban!

17. MECAL BARCELONA

I've met Roberto Barrueco director of Mecal Festival of Barcelona two years ago in Gdansk, Poland then I invited him to the international jury at 10th BuSho, now he returned it by putting me in his festival's jury along with two ladies from Spain and Panama. It came to me as a surprise when I fund out they not only invite those film makers whose piece made it to the competition but all who is being in the entire program. So as I sent them a small collection of Hungarian shorts, 2 days later a collection of Hungarian film makers of the same size joined me.

MECAL AZ ESZEM

A barcelonai Mecal fesztivál igazgatójával, Roberto Barruecoval még 2 éve Gdanksban találkoztam, aztán tavaly meghívtam a 10. BuSho zsűrijébe, most pedig visszahívott és a nemzetközi zsűriben egy spanyol és egy panamai hölggyel kaptunk helyet, ez volt tehát a nagy katalán fesztivál panama :). Meglepetésre az indulás előtti napokban derült ki, hogy a fesztiválra, nem csak a versenyben szereplő alkotókat hívják meg, hanem mindenkit, akinek szerepel az alkotása a programban, mivel pedig egy magyar rövidfilm kollekciót is küldtem nekik, így aztán 2 nappal érkezésem után csatlakozott egy kisebb delegáció otthonról. WINTER DREAM MUSIC WITH RACKAS

The new album of György Ferenczi and the Rackajam is already named by experts as the "best sounding album of the Hungarian pop music of all time". It was recorded in Nashville just a few weeks after their gig on the 10th BuSho festival opening ceremony. The Rackas thought big when decided to put their wild, genuine, unconventional Hungarian music on the test where else then in the city of the roots of rock and roll, where they have the best equipped studios and the center of the American music industry. Thank you and see you at the 11th BuSho festival. You can also watch what Promotor TV has shot with them on their album premier at Fonó in January. The band's long awaited dream came true when they were given the opportunity last fall to trecord their new album in a Nashville studio. The band will be telling stories about this trip and also show us the music result of it. But this isn't all! We've been brainstorming for years about how we could share our favourite musics with the audience of BuSho who are fan of shorts. Now we have the solution: in the form of a 3 playlists that can be found on our website. Enjoy!

TÉLI ÁLOM ZENE RACKÁKKAL

Ferenczi György és a Rackajam új lemezét, melyet néhány héttel az itt látható 10. BuSho fesztivál megnyitó koncertet követően Nashville-ben rögzítettek a fiúk, a szakemberek máris „a magyar könnyűzenetörténet legjobban megszólaló albumaként” tartják számon! A Rackák mertek nagyot gondolni: kipróbálták, hogy különleges, formabontó, vad, magyar zenéjük hogyan működik abban a városban, ahonnan a rock and roll is elindult, itt vannak a világ legjobb stúdiói, itt van az amerikai zenei világ központja. Köszönjük és várunk a 11. BuSho fesztiválon  Ugyanitt láthatjátok, amit Fonóban tartott januári lemezbemutató koncerten forgatott velük a Promontor tévé: Régi vágya valósult meg a Rackajam zenekarnak tavaly ősszel, amikor egy turné kapcsán eljutottak a nashville-i hangstúdióba, hogy ott rögzítsék új lemezüket. Élményeikről mesélnek az együttes tagja és hallhatjuk a fergeteges végeredményt is a koncerten. És ez még nem minden! Hosszú évek óta törtük a fejünket, hogy hogyan tudnánk kedvenc zenéinket a BuSho kedvelő, tehát rövidfilmszerető kollégákkal megosztani, most erre is megszületett a megoldás, az oldalon található 3 lejátszási lista formájában! CALL FOR ENTRIES

14TH EDITION OF MAGMA - NOVEMBER 2015 IN ACIREALE

Associazione Culturale Scarti is glad to announce the Call Of Entries for the 14th edition of Magma - mostra di cinema breve (international short film festival) is now open. The festival runs 25th-28th November 2015 in Acireale (Italy). Here’s the link to the entry form to submit your short films for pre-selection: Entry Form The final deadline for submitting short films is May 15th 2015. Magma – mostra di cinema breve has so far examined 6.000 short films coming from 79 countries of the world, reaching a total attendance of about 14.000 spectators and standing out as one of the best short film festivals in Italy.
