BUSHO ENTRIES 2015

Just like good ol' Stallone, we are over the top, we entered our tender teenage years,
and – contributing to the joy of a new beginning –
registered over one thousand, that is 1000 entries...
The most entries were submitted via our own BuSho Entry Platform which was launched for meeting the challenges
of our modern age and for the first time during the history of online platforms,
the second largest contribution came from Reelport, followed by Filmfreeway.
All the others gathered the additional creations in a step-by-step fashion, accounting for some hundreds of shorts,
meaning that the members of the Pre-jury which was established at the beginning of March are able to work from a final list.
The members of the Distilling Unit stayed almost unchanged: Mester "Maestro" Ákos joined the duo consisting Laczi Rimóczi and Pista Mag;
Edina Csüllög, who is tele-working for BuSho, teamed up with our re-joining BuSho crew member Asia Dér,
while the jurors responsible for animations remained the general staff of Primanima: the Tamás Patrovits – Annaida Orosz duo.
The Competition and screening programme will be announced on the 20th of June after the closure of the preselection period (ending on the 31st of May),
detailed statistics are coming soon, Until then: keep your fingers crossed!

Amúgy Stallonésan túl vagyunk a csúcson, avagy az első évtizeden és az újrakezdés örömére ismét sikerült átlépni
az ezer azaz 1000 nevezésen...
A modernkor kihívásainak megfelelően beindított online platformok történetében első alkalommal a saját magunk által generált
BuSho nevezési felületen érkezett a legtöbb nevezés, aztán a német precíziós műszerként működő Reelport majd a Filmfreeway produkált kiemelkedőt.
A többiek az úgynevezett futottak még kategóriáan szorgoskodtak össze további párszáz alkotást,
tehát a március elején indított előzsűri végleges listából dolgozhat tovább. Az előválógató csapat egyébként szinte változatlan,
a Rimóczi Laczi, Mag Pista duóhoz csatlakozott programigazgatónk Mester Ákos, a távolból szűrő Csüllög Edinához egy régi-új visszatérő BuSho csapattag Dér Asia,
az animator szekció pedig továbbra is a Primanima vezérkar, azaz a Patrovits Tamás – Orosz Annaida duó.
A további menetrend a korábban bevezetett május 31-én záruló előszelektálást követő június 20-án hirdetünk majd verseny- és egyéb vetítési programot.

ENTRY STATISTICS OF THE 11th BUSHO

For the first time the entry platform of Bushonline got the most submissions, that is 296 entries,
Reelport (made in Germany) got 280, and the rapidly emerging Filmfreeway accounted for 227 entries.
They are followed by DataSheets with 145 shorts which includes only the productions of a few agencies,
such as Germany-based Aug&Ohr or the Spanish Freak Cinema. ClickForFest accounted for 69,
Movibeta presented 51 and Festhome supplied 25 entries. Strangely the sum of submissions is very similar to last year's
submissions to BuSho:
1143 And returning to the compiling platforms regarding agencies, studios and schools – we will soon present
a dedicated list on our website that will show the contenders for this years "Best Compilation Special Prize".
As usual, the most represented category was "fiction" among the various categories, followed by animations and experimental short films,
but we were also presented with magical categories (which are not utilized by us) such as Art, Comedy, Drama, Sci-Fi, Thriller and many documentary films,
but we were the most delighted with the denomination short film. And last, but not least here are the results based on the sender countries,
there are no big surprises based on the experiences of previous years but quite a few interesting facts.
According to the unofficial data
77 countries sent short films to Budapest,
among which we could meet such exotic contenders as: Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bolivia, Central African Republic,
Cote D'Ivoire, Haiti, Iraq, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Nepal or Qatar! BuSho has an impressive European coverage,
we got a fair number of submissions from Scandinavia, but we could call the submitted shortfilms from Austria (25),
Switzerland (28) or Belgium (32) also outstanding. The gold medalists are the Spaniards as usual with 205 entries,
Germans won the virtual Silver medal again (121 entries),
and to our great joy Hungary came in as third with 74 shorts right before the Brits (68) and Americans (71)!

A 11. BUSHO NEVEZÉSI STATISZTIKÁI

|
A 11. alkalommal meghirdetett felhívásra tehát első alkalommal a BuShonline nevezési platformra érkezett a legtöbb,
szám szerint 296 darab nevezés, a német Reelporton 280, míg a rohamosan növekvő tendenciát mutató Filmfreeway 227 beérkezett rövidet számlált.
Ezek után következik a DataSheets elnevezésű lista 145 filmmel, mely csupán néhány ügynökség, mint például a német Aug&Ohr vagy a
spanyol Freak Cinema alkotásait tartalmazza, amely listára még visszatérünk majd. A ClickForFest 69, a Movibeta 51, a Festhome 50,
végül az Uptofest 25 nevezéssel járult hozzá az idei végeredményhez, miszerint a
11. BuSho fesztiválra érkezett nevezések összesen: 1143,
mely kísértetiesen egyezik a tavalyi nevezések mennyiségével.
Visszatérve az Ügynökségek, Stúdiók, Iskolák által nevezett gyűjtőkhöz,
hamarosan weboldalunkon egy külön listában tekinthetők meg azok, amelyek közül az idei esztendő "Legjobb válogatás" különdíjasa kerül majd ki.
Kategóriánkénti bontásban szokás szerint a Fikciók voltak túlsúlyban, az animációk és a kísérleti alkotások előtt,
de természetesen érkeztek varázslatos, nálunk nem létező is besorolások, mint például az Art, a Comedy, Drama, Sci-Fi,
Thriller avagy temérdek dokumentumfilm is, de leginkább a Short Film megnevezésnek őrültünk meg.
Végül következzenek az országonkénti megoszlások, melyekben a hosszú évek tapasztalatai alapján nincsenek igazán nagy meglepetések,
de érdekességek viszont annál inkább. A nem hiteles adathalmaz alapján
idén 77 országból érkeztek rövidfilmek Budapestre,
melyek közt olyan kuriózumokra bukkanhatunk, mint Azerbajdzsán, Bahrein, Bolívia, Közép Afrikai Köztársaság, Elefántcsontpart,
Haiti, Irak, Koreai Nép Demokratikus Köztársaság, Nepál vagy épp Katar!
Immár évek óta Európa szinte minden szegletéből figyelemmel követik a BuSho fesztivált,
így ezúttal Skandináviából is szép számmal neveztek, de kiugrónak számít az osztrák sógorok 25,
a svájciak 28 vagy égy a belgák 32 nevezése is. A dobogó legfelső fokán szokás szerint a spanyolok 205 nevezéssel,
ezüstérmesek ismét a németek 121 alkotással és a harmadik helyen orrhosszal megelőzve a briteket (68)
és az amerikaiakat (71) nagy örömünkre Magyarország végzett, a maga 74 beküldött rövidfilmjével!
A hazai pálya ugyanúgy, mint a májusi eső – aranyat érhet! :)

9TH GOMBUSHO ALL-ART WORKSHOP
|

The vacation is just a few weeks ahead, which means that our creative camp will be organized at the Great Hungarian Plain for the 9th time!
We will announce the winners of the Spot&Poster workshop held in Oradea this winter who will be able to take part in our one-week long
9. GomBuSho All-Art workshop and Summer Camp!
Beside the winners the Camp will be visited by the apprentices from the Partium Christian University,
our re-attending guests and of course the children, giving place to create various projects together! If you would like to join us,
you can do so by following the instrucions on our webpage until the 1st of June!

9. GOMBUSHO ÖSSZMŰVÉSZETI ALKOTÓTÁBOR

Már csak néhány hét és vége az iskolának, megkezdődik a vakáció és ezen belül a nyári táborok is,
melynek során kilencedik alkalommal kerül majd megrendezésre alkotótáborunk az Alföldön.
Hamarosan eredményt hirdetünk majd, hogy a téli nagyváradi Spot↦Poster workshop résztvevői közül ki az a szerencsés,
aki megnyerheti az ingyenes részvételt az egyhetes nyári
9. GomBuSho összművészeti workshopra!
Rajtuk kívül a Partiumi Keresztény Egyetem Gyakornokai, visszatérő vendégek és természetesen a gyerekek népesítik majd be a tábort,
hogy az egy hét együttlét során létrehozzanak valami maradandót maguk után! Ha valaki szeretne csatlakozni,

BACK TO AMARANTE

Following our debut in May last year when Dániel Vízkeleti presented his film "Monsters" in person in Amarante
a small city in Portugal we took part in a one-week workshop at the Youth Center Casa de Juventude.
And the collaboration continues with 2 film related events!
The FLIP animation festival will be organized again in May where a compilation of last year's BuSho will be shown,
and the next visitation will occur in the autumn
ESFA (European ShortFilm Festival Amarante) the Youth Exchange "TRAILER: Short films, youth messages!" will promote the values of solidarity,
mutual understanding and European citizenship through Non Formal Education (NFE) methodologies through
a challenging week where they will learn more about cinema and other multimedia tools.
This project will be developed by 4 Program countries (Portugal, Hungary, Spain and Denmark) and will take place in Amarante (Portugal)
during 10 days in September 2015 with 20 participants (5 per country),
aged between 18-25, and 4 youth leaders. So right after the 11th BuSho let's go to Portugal!

AMARANTE VISSZAVÁR

A tavaly májusi debütálásunkat követően, amikor Vízkeleti Dániel prezentálta személyesen Szörnyetegek című filmjét az észak Portugál kisvárosban Amarantéban,
ősszel egy hetes workshopon vettünk részt a Casa de Juventude elnevezésű ifjúsági központban.
Idén pedig folytatódik az együttműködés, még pedig 2 filmes vonatkozású rendezvényen.
Ismét májusban kerül megrendezésre
a FLIP animációs fesztivál, ahol egy tavalyi BuSho válogatást vetítenek majd,
ősszel pedig következik az újabb vizit:
A tavaly közreműködésünkkel beindított ESFA (European ShortFilm Festival Amarante) második kiadásával párhozamosan zajlik majd a
"TRAILER: rövidfilmek, fiatalos üzenetek" ifjúsági csereprogram előmozdítja a szolidaritás,
kölcsönös megértés és az európai polgárság eszméinek terjedését a nem formális oktatás módszertanának segítségével,
egy kihívásokkal teli hét keretén belül, ahol a résztvevők a mozgókép és egyéb multimédiás eszközök világát ismerhetik meg részletesebben.
A projekt négy ország (Portugália, Magyarország, Spanyolország és Dánia) közös együttműködésének gyümölcse és 2015. szeptemberében mintegy 20 résztvevővel,
a spanyolországi Amarantéban fog zajlani, a résztvevők 18-25 év közötti fiatalok (5 résztvevő országonként),
akiket a tábor 10 napja alatt 4, az országok által delegált ifjúságsegítő kísér.
Tehát a 11. BuSho Fesztivált követő héten vállalkozó kedvű tehetségekkel rögtön irány Portugália!

Gyakorlatorientált filmes kurzus kezdőknek, filmrajongóknak, május 30-tól, 6 hétvégén keresztül a szakma alapjainak megismerésén kívül a résztvevők együtt forgatnak Péterrel ott, ahol ő is forgatta a Vakvagányok című, első magyar akadálymentesített filmjét. EUROSHORT PROJECT

Sedicicorto International Short Film Festival
(www.sedicicorto.it) sent us an invitation to join the EuroShort Project,
which is an International Film Festival Network. EuroShort aims at promoting the work of young European filmmakers under 29,
and at the moment it involves 9 short film festivals:
Avanca (Portugal) - Filmhafizasi (Turkey) - Glasgow SFF (Scotland-UK) - In the Palace (Bulgaria) - Tabor (Croatia) - Sedicicorto (Italy) -
Wiz-Art (Ukraine) - FEC Festival (Spain) and from 2015 BuSho (Hungary). Each festival has chosen a "best European short film 2014"
(that is, a short film that was selected in the respective festival edition 2014.
It should be a short film made by a young European filmmaker - possibly under 29 years of age -
who is not necessarily a citizen of the native country of the festival).
Another project is the "EuroShort Campus & Grant 2015/16": Sedicicorto is going to create the
"EuroShort Campus & Grant 2015/16": an event during the Festival dedicated to students coming from film schools of the countries joining the
EuroShort Network.
The partner festivals promote the event in their country and collect registrations of students who would like to join us for a
roundtable/masterclass during 12° Sedicicorto (8/17 October 2015).
Sedicicorto will welcome a max of 2 or 3 students per country, offering them accommodation and meal vouchers for 3 nights
(during the final days of the Festival). In 2016, these students will have the opportunity to win a 1,000 Euros
grant with one short film realized during their studies.

UNDER THE MOON

Countries and Cultures around the world have myths about the Moon,
reflecting its prominence in the night sky and its impact on our lives from ancient time.
Do you see any similarities between these myths? Young people in different countries "Under the Moon" has their life,
dreams and wishes. Our project connected four groups of young people from Slovenia, Hungary,
Croatia and Serbia and motivated them to think about similarity and diversity in their life,
to research about problems they have, to find solution and to express themselves through film.
Film is creative combination between LIGHT and DARK. Everything, like Moon, has a light and dark side.
Moon never shows dark side to anybody. The project is called "Under the Moon",
because the moon itself stands as a symbol of connection. We all live under the moon's light, and if we think about it, together,
we are incredibly small in comparison with the Universe, but at the same time we are very important.
And also, our stories which we live Under the Moon's face are small and important at the same time.
Under the Moon project will give the light to the dark side of our life. They are thinking today to shape our future TOGETHER.
In our project we included partner organizations from neighborhood countries. Each country team have to be composed by young participants 16-24 years old.
Each Country Team has Representative Team composed by 4 participants and one leader.

BUSHO IN CANNES WITH KINEČKO
|

KINEČKO is a bimonthly Slovak magazine that reflects cinema in the context of contemporary culture,
presents the public with a profound non-conformist analysis of film, and supports writing about film as a relevant component of living cinema.
Since 2012, Kinečko has also released one international issue per year, dedicated to festival goers,
the international industry and all cinema lovers without frontiers. In February 2012 Kinečko published the first issue in English,
and thus became the first Slovak film periodical aimed at foreign readers to present the small, yet ambitious Slovak cinema.
We decided to dedicate the second issue of the international Kinečko mainly to a reflection on Slovak cinema and we focused on Slovak film periodicals.
We wanted to introduce their distinctive features and the work of their respective editors: Slovak film critics and journalists.
Last year's international issue, so called The Kinečko referred to Slovak films within the context of film festivals.
And here we are with this year's Short Kinečko, dedicated to short films, because as we say in Slovakia
"The best things come in small packages" or as I personally like to say "it's always best to drink small beer".
