BUSHO BREAKING NEWS 2017/7. --- AUTUMN LEAVES

  THIS FALL HAS MORE TO OFFER THAN THICK STEW

The 13th BUSHO Festival just ended when we fund ourselves in Karlovac, Croatia on the 4 River Film Festival and the preparation stage of the so called Finding Humanity youth program, on which the participants task is to make films about the topic of Human Rights. In the meanwhile we had to start the analysis of our festival as well as making the usual best-of-selection, which was on high demand by all the Hungarian institutes around the globe. Among others we received invitations from Tallin, Chicago and Sydney, so off the Hungarian shorts went to Flickerfest. Our insider colleague in Istanbul made preparations for our presentation next year. Then we set off to Amarante of Portugal for the youth exchange program with 6 Hungarians takig part in Ignite your skills. Parallel to this, many other international events were ongoing, and the enthusiastic BuSho team managed to present in almost all. In mid October Charlotte Symmons made a presentation in the 8th Pocity Film Festival in Presov, Slovakia. Teréz Koncz was part of the jury in Lvyv, Ukraine on the Wiz-Art Festival, also part of the Euroshort Festival Network. Her review is worth to read. Obviously we will make the 14th BuSho Festival entry platform available by beginning of December. Our projects for November are the a Rajzfilmünnep where a selection of Busho's animations will be showcased, then we will hold a presentation in Jerevan with Robert Maly on Rolan Bykov IVF Film Festival , on the way back we pop in to Bucharest Hungarian Film Week for BuSho being the guest of honour there. We need aslo to visit Oldenburg in Germany to finish our project of Ignite Your Skills where we ought to make 8 shorts about key competencies. Last but not least a female selection will close the year for the next year debutant Porto Femme International Film Festival.

  EZ AZ ŐSZ SŰRŰBB, MINT A TISZAI HALÁSZLÉ

Épp hogy nagy sikerrel véget ért a 13. BuSho Rövidfilm Fesztivál, máris a 4 River Film fesztiválon találtuk magunkat a horvátországi Karlovacban és a „Finding Humanity” elnevezésű nemzetközi ifjúsági program előkészítésén, melynek keretében a résztvevő országok fiataljainak emberi jogi tematikában kell majd egy-egy filmalkotást létre hozniuk! Eközben kellett elkezdenünk a fesztivál feldolgozását, lezárását és az elszámolásokat, aztán összeállítani a már szokásosnak nevezhető a bestof filmek válogatását, melyet már nagyon vártak világszerte a magyar Intézetekben (Isztambul, Moszkva, Bukarest, Stuttgart) és nem is maradt el az eredmény. Többek között Tallinból, Chicagoból sőt Ausztráliából is érkeztek megkeresések, melynek következtében a legjobb magyar filmeket sikerült is elküldeni Sydney seregszemléjére, a Flickerfestre, miközben beépített emberünk az isztambuli Kisakesen készítette elő a jövő évi prezentációnkat. Aztán már indultunk is tovább a következő ifjúsági csereprogramra 6 magyar résztvevővel, még pedig a portugál Amarantéban megrendezett „Ignite Your Skills”-re. Ezzel párhuzamosan zajlott több nemzetközi rendezvény, melyeken a részvételt a fantasztikus BuSho csapat jóvoltából szintén sikerült megoldanunk. Október közepén zajlott a 8. Pocity Film Fesztivál Prešovban (Eperjes – Szlovákia), melyen Charlotte Symmons prezentált, valamint az Euroshort Fesztivál Hálózatban is megtalálható Wiz-Art zsűrijében vett részt Koncz Teréz az ukrán Lvyv-ben és küldött egy beszámolót nekünk. Természetesen közben előkészítjük majd a 14. BuSho nevezési platformját, hogy december elsején, mint minden évben megnyíljon a lehetőség az alkotók előtt, hogy beküldhessék filmjeiket a tinédzser éveibe lépő fesztiválra. Addig azonban következzenek a novemberi projektek, azaz a Rajzfilmünnep keretein belül BuSho animációs válogatást láthat a közönség, majd Maly Robival Jerevánban prezentálunk a Rolan Bykov IVF Film Fesztiválon, visszafelé pedig a Bukaresti Magyar Filmhét díszvendége idén a BuSho fesztivál lesz! Decemberben még a német Oldenburgban az októberben megkezdett és előkészített Ignite Your Skills nemzetközi projekt megvalósítása vár ránk – 8 darab rövidfilm elkészítése a kulcs kompetenciákról, végül egy női válogatással zárjuk majd az évet, a jövő évben debütáló Porto Femme International Film Festival felvezetéseként.

  VISEGRAD – ARMENIA IFF

This year, Armenian Rolan Bykov Foundation implements a special project "Visegrad-Armenia: "Rolan" International Film Festival as a Platform for Intercultural Dialogue" with the support of International Visegrad Fund and the Foreign Ministry of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. BUSHO is the project partner from Hungary and has recommended a special selection of films representing Hungarian cinematography, such as this year's Oscar-winning film "Sing", (directed by Kristóf Deák), "Operation Stone", „Before Lunch", etc., which has been selected for special screenings in the frames of the Project and will support promotion of culture of Hungary through cinematography in Armenia. In addition, the Festival Director of the BUSHO Mr. Tamás Gábeli and Mr. Róbert Maly, a cinematographer of the film "Sing" will participate in the project activities in Yerevan and will present from the first-hand rich and diverse culture of Hungary to Armenian large audiences in specialised universities and  institutions.

  25. ALTER-NATIVE Nemzetkozi Rovidfilm Fesztival

 XX Element Project is Cultural Association that was born with the aim of promoting the cultural enrichment of the population in general and civic and social activities, with a special focus on the theme of women, promoting gender equality. Porto Femme is an international women’s film festival. A place of exhibition and dissemination of multiple and diverse universes that put women in the center. The Festival intends to create a space of visibility for the women of and in the cinematographic world. The event aims to be a point of sharing, debate and creation for all those who love the cinema.

Films that meet the following conditions will be admitted for selection of the International Competition:
1. Produced after January 1st, 2015.
2. Not available on web;
3. Films that aren’t completed (work in progress) won’t be accepted but only the final versions of them;
4. Films directed by women, with no age limit or limit of works registered by director, or countries restriction;
5. In international competition, works are accepted in the following categories:

FICTION, ANIMATION & DOCUMENTARY SECTION – short and feature fiction films. Shorts may not exceed 30 minutes and feature films should be at least 50 minutes.

EXPERIMENTAL – Experimental films with a maximum duration of 20 minutes.

Erasmus+ programme Youth for Europe supports the project Ignite Your Skills, as a Strategic partnership of the following partners:

to produce the two high quality educational tools below for the quality youth work:
- 8 video tutorials to learn 8 key competences in the youth work
- Reflection Diary, a self-assessment tool for un-formal education
-  Additional parts of the projects that contribute to the quality of the project are:
- Testing of both tools
- Translation of the Reflection Diary to the following languages: English, Portuguese, German, Slovene, Croatian, Hungarian, Polish, Italian, Spanish, French.
- Dissemination activities.
