BUSHO BREAKING NEWS 2021 / 4.

  THE 17TH BUSHO SCREENING PROGRAM IS HERE

Out of nearly a thousand works submitted to the 17th BuSho Festival, this year's pre-jury selected 71 short films for the usual 15-hour competition program, including 4 experimental, 16 animation and 51 fiction films. As previously reported, an epidemic situation here or where, for the first time in the history of the festival, Hungarian short filmmakers paddling in Hungarian waters submitted most of these works, specifically 93 works. On the one hand, this is very gratifying, but on the other hand, it caused a serious headache for the pre-jury, which this time swelled to 6 members, and the Hungarian panorama program will promise a lot, but for now, let's see the opinions of the selectors.

Annaida Orosz, who has been working with us with pleasure for many years and of course with animations, as she does this in her busy everyday life: "A lot of this year's animations deal with the frustrations of our everyday lives, which are seen with absurd humor, grotesque surrealism and gloomy melancholy."

László Rimóczi is the oldest pre-filter in the team, he has seen many shorts in more than a decade: “This year we are not interested in the viewer being bored, so I selected again in the light of this. I watched the works with a lot of hardened experience and rubbed eyes, and I think it’s still a good film where it’s not the script that stands out, but rather the essence of shaping, the charm of the story, when spontaneous creativity takes control over the letters, and the overall picture its dynamism makes the work eternal. There will be strife, lies, escape, ghosts and love, UFOs and muffins, excitement and kefir this year.”

Máté Holdosi, became a selector from a former Student Jury member: "It was exciting to watch so many films, I'm already cheering on some of my favorites."

Tímea Tánczos also joined the team from the Student Jury at our call last year: “The films submitted are very wide-ranging, both technically and in terms of their subject matter. What was absolutely out of the box is that most films are built around current topics that concern the making nation, which I think is very important now that the virus dominates everything and other problems are dwarfed. I think we managed to select really important and good material for this year's competition. ”

Levente Galambos, a youth cameraman candidate, has been with us for 2 years now: "It was emotionally exhausting to look at the part of this year's inter-fiction category that falls on me, and I say this in an absolutely positive sense.”

Ágnes Böjte is also with us for the second year in a row, but for decades with Hungarian short films on TV, radio and university film clubs: “The human race is a dragon's tooth crop: There is no hope! there is no hope!” „No connection fulfilled, no connection. There is no one to stand up for our principles, we have no principles. Perhaps the only hope is that these films could have been made, and while we watch them, we don’t feel so alone.”

In the light of the antecedents, it is not surprising that Hungarians delegate most of the competition films, followed by the usual Spanish, British, German and French works, but of course all Visegrád countries are represented or Argentinian, Australian or Belarusian short films, which are rarely seen in Hungary. So now we expect everyone to send the projection copies according to the parameters below and we will apply soon with the breakdown by block and the detailed projection program!

  ÍME A 17. BUSHO VETÍTÉSI PROGRAMJA

A 17. BuSho fesztiválra érkezett közel ezer alkotásból az idei előzsűri ezúttal 71 rövidfilmet választott a szokás szerint 15 órás verseny programba, melyek között kategóriánkénti bontásban 4 kísérleti 16 animációs és 51 fikciós film található. Amint arról már korábban beszámoltunk, járványhelyzet ide vagy hova, a fesztivál történetében első alkalommal fordult elő, hogy a hazai vizeken evező magyar rövidfilmesek küldték be e legtöbb, konkrétan 93 alkotást. Ez egyrészt igen örömteli, másrészt viszont komoly fejtörést okozott az ezúttal 6 tagúra duzzadt előzsűrinek és a magyar panoráma program is tetemesnek ígérkezik majd, de egyelőre lássuk a válogatók véleményeit a látottakról.

Orosz Annaida, aki hosszú évek óta dolgozik örömmel velünk és persze az animációkkal, hiszen a dolgos mindennapokban is ezt teszi: „Az idei animációk között feltűnően sok foglalkozik hétköznapjaink frusztrációival, amelyeket hol abszurd humorral, hol groteszk szürrealitással, hol pedig komor melankóliával láttatnak.”

Rimóczi László a legrégebbi előszűrő a csapatban, több, mint egy évtized alatt látott már sok rövidet: „Idén sem érdekünk, hogy a néző unatkozzon, így újfent ennek fényében szelektáltam. Sokat edzett tapasztalattal és dörzsölt szemekkel néztem az alkotásokat, és szerintem még mindig az a jó film, ahol nem a forgatókönyv domborodik ki, hanem inkább az alakítás esszenciája, a történet varázsa, amikor átveszi az irányítást a spontán kreativitás a betűk fölött, és az összkép dinamizmusa avatja örök érvényüvé a művet. Lesz idén viszály, hazugság, menekülés, szellemek és szerelem, ufók és muffinok, izgalom és kefír.”

Holdosi Máté, korábbi Diákzsűri tagból avanzsált előválogató: "Izgalmas volt ennyi filmet megnézni, már most szurkolok néhány kedvencemnek."

Tánczos Tímea ugyancsak a Diákzsűriből került a csapatba a tavalyi felhívásunkra: „A beküldött filmek nagyon széles skálán mozognak, mind technikai szempontból mind pedig témájukat tekintve. Ami abszolút kilátszott a mezőnyből, hogy a legtöbb film a készítő nemzetet foglalkoztató aktuális témák köré épül, ami szerintem nagyon fontos most, hogy a vírus ural mindent és más problémák eltörpülnek. Azt gondolom, igazán fontos és jó anyagot sikerült összeválogatni az idei versenybe.”

Galambos Levente, operatőr-jelölt ifjúsági tagozatos, immár 2 éve velünk: "Érzelmileg kimerítő volt az idei inter-fiction kategória rám eső részét végignézni, és ezt abszolút pozitív értelemben mondom. Hidegrázás, röhögő görcs, gyász – a teljes spektrumot bejártam."

Böjte Ágnes szintén második éve van velünk, de évtizedek óta a magyar rövidfilmekkel tévében, rádióban és egyetemi filmklubban: „Az emberfaj sárkányfog-vetemény: Nincsen remény! nincsen remény!” Nincs beteljesült kapcsolat, nincs is kapcsolat. Nincs, aki kiálljon az elveinkért, nincsenek is elveink. Az egyetlen reményteli talán az, hogy ezek a filmek elkészülhettek, és míg nézzük őket, nem érezzük magunkat annyira egyedül.”

Az előzmények tükrében tehát nem meglepetés, hogy a magyarok delegálják a legtöbb versenyfilmet, majd a szokásosnak nevezhető spanyol, brit, német, francia alkotások, de persze az összes visegrádi ország is képviselteti magát vagy az itthon ritkábban látható argentín, ausztrál vagy fehérorosz rövidfilmesek. Most tehát mindenkitől várjuk a vetítési kópiákat az alábbi paraméterek szerint és hamarosan jelentkezünk majd a blokkonkénti bontással és a részletes vetítési programmal!

On behalf of the 17th BuSho Pre-Jury and the entire team, we would like to begin by congratulating all the selected artists and would like to point out at the outset that this year we will be introducing some minor changes to submitting projection copies to make your work run as smoothly as possible. As usual, we have created a separate account for each work on the festival server, where near the projection copies and the images to the festival catalogue, this time we will also be waiting for the synopses and the actual length of the work. So no later than July 1, everyone should send us a projection copy of your film with a burnt-in English subtitles according to the following parameters:

- 1920x1080 PAL 24 or 25 fps, h264.mp4
- 48 kHz 16 bit stereo, maximum -6 dB!
(DCP and other formats won't be accepted!)
Hereby, the entrant declares that his / her submitted artwork has cleared copyrights for music and others.
IF THE FULL MOVIE IS ONLINE ON ANY VIDEO-SHARING SITE: OUT OF THE PROGRAM ON BUSHO!
We ask all creators to check their details if they are incomplete or want any changes, so you can change them, especially the length of the film, the director's email address and the image. because we will be working on this data in the catalogue! We also ask Hungarian artists to send the synopsis for their film in 2 languages, ie Hungarian and English, thank you!   VÁRJUK A VETÍTÉSI KÓPIÁKAT

A 17. BuSho előzsűri és az egész csapat nevében először is gratulálunk valamennyi beválogatott alkotónak és rögtön szeretnénk felhívni a figyelmet, hogy az idei évben is bevezetünk néhány apróbb módosítást a vetítési kópiák beküldésével kapcsolatban, hogy minél gördülékenyebben menjen a munka. A szokásoknak megfelelően valamennyi alkotásnak létrehoztunk egy saját fiókot a fesztivál szerveren, ahová a vetítési kópiák és a katalógusba kerülő képek mellett ezúttal a szinopszisokat és az alkotás tényleges hosszát is várjuk majd. Legkésőbb július 1-ig tehát mindenki küldje el nekünk a vetítési kópiát a filmjéhez, beégetett angol felirattal a következő paraméterek szerint:
